Launch the media gallery 1 playerA gymnasium full of family and friends heard presentations, speeches, and thoughts from the HHS Class of 2010 Sunday. The twenty six graduates shared the spotlight with two members whose short lives prevented them from attending in person, though their presence was felt.
Class members Taylor Forgey and Brooke Hannaford gave the invocation.
Valedictorian Ana Karina Mendiola addressed the crowd, as well as Salutatorian Nakaya Fester. Both speakers stressed that the time that had passed in the graduate's young lives had been important, but even greater challenges and successes lie ahead.
Board President April Casey welcomed the crowd, and Secondary Principal Peggy Thayer presented the class, after Guidance Counselor Ramona Hucke awarded many scholarships.
A beautiful video presentation was shown to the crowd. The pictures, music, and arrangement was done by class members Josie Fletcher, Taylor Forgey, and Brooke Hannaford. Mrs. Kay Horstman assisted the students.
Class member Kaytlyn Mapes was recognized for her enlistment in the United States Air Force.
Shaylea Hinojosa and Jo Duncan kept the audience entertained with the Classes' school history.
Receptions for class members were held throughout Hemingford and Alliance on Saturday and Sunday.
