Bobcat CARES

October 14, 2024

The Bobcat CARE (Community Action Reaching Education) Fund

Living in a small community, we understand the importance of working together and relying on one another for success. However, resources can sometimes be limited. During tough times, parents and families may struggle to provide their children with everything they need. The Bobcat CARE Fund steps in to assist families by offering supplies, clothing, shoes, toiletries, school lunch, milk, and even support for CNA certifications.

How it Works

The Bobcat CARE Fund operates in a straightforward manner. When teachers or parents identify a student's needs, they reach out to the Principals at Hemingford Elementary and High School. These needs, such as winter coats, tennis shoes, or assistance with school lunch, can be addressed through the CARE funds. The specific needs can be posted on our Facebook page and website. If someone wishes to donate an item, they can comment or message on Facebook or contact the school directly. Donations, whether items or funds, can be dropped off at the school and will be distributed to the students in need. This program is entirely confidential, and no student names are ever disclosed.

To request help:

  • Contact our Elementary or High School Principals by completing the form at this link:  Bobcat CARES Referral/Request Form

Or

  • Contact Us:
    • Mr. Arneson, Elementary School Principal: (308) 487-3330
    • Dr. Miller, High School Principal: (308) 487-3328

We will gather the necessary information based on what is needed or can assist in finding resources for you to reach out to.  As part of this process, you are also encouraged to visit with your student’s teacher about items your child may need.

To support our fund:

  • Donate items/funding through your business. Also, feel free to post our information page in your business to help us spread the word about The Bobcat CARE Fund.
  • Donate items/funding personally through HCF (taxable deductions)
