Neb.Rev.St. § 79-2402 Compliance (Superintendent Pay Transparency Act)
The following information is posted to ensure school district compliance with Neb.Rev.St. § 79-2402.
In 2014 the Nebraska Legislature passed, and the Governor signed into law, LB 470, which is also known as the Superintendent Pay Transparency Act. This state statute requires the following procedure for school boards prior to approval of proposed contracts for superintendent services.
The Hemingford Public Schools Board of Education approved a contract for 2022-2023 with a new superintendent, Dr. Travis Miller, on March 14, 2022.
For returning superintendents, the following procedure is used:
Publish at least three days prior to the board meeting at which the contract or amendment will be considered:
- The date, time, and place of the meeting;
- A copy of the proposed contract or amendment; and
- A reasonable estimate and description of all current and future costs to the district if the contract or amendment is approved.
Notice is hereby given that Hemingford Public Schools has the approval of a proposed superintendent employment contract/contract amendment on its agenda for the board meeting to be held on April 17, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the South Campus Meeting Room in Hemingford, Nebraska.
