AHERA ANNUAL NOTIFICATION 2023-2024

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) requires annual notification of the public that asbestos may be present in Hemingford Public Schools buildings. Each building has a set of reports with the type, percentage, and location of asbestos. Contact the building administrator if you would like to see these reports.

The AHERA Notification herein serves to inform all parents, legal guardians, teachers, administrators and all other employees that the three-year re-inspection, also required by law, was performed in June 2023 by a fully accredited Asbestos Inspector from the M.C.S. Family of Companies (M.C. Schaff & Associates, Inc., Panhandle Geotechnical & Environmental, Inc., Enviro Service, Inc.)

School buildings will have available six-month periodic surveillance and a three-year re-inspection as required by AHERA.

Any questions regarding asbestos removal projects or any asbestos-related issues should be addressed to Mr. Jim Miles, LEA Designated Person, or (308) 487-3328.
