AHERA ANNUAL NOTIFICATION 2026-2027
In accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), Hemingford Public Schools annually notifies parents, legal guardians, teachers, administrators, employees, and other interested parties of the availability of the District’s asbestos management plans and any asbestos-related activities conducted or planned within District facilities.
The District’s required three-year AHERA re-inspection was performed on July 24, 2026, by Ryan Penn, an accredited Asbestos Inspector and Management Planner with Panhandle Geotechnical & Environmental, Inc., part of the M.C.S. Family of Companies. The final re-inspection report, Project No. RP260257-00, was issued on July 29, 2026.
The report documents the abatement of the last known suspect or confirmed asbestos-containing building materials in Hemingford Public Schools. Therefore, the July 2026 inspection is the District’s final required three-year AHERA re-inspection unless additional suspect materials are discovered in the future.
Questions concerning the asbestos management plans, previous abatement projects, or other asbestos-related matters should be directed to Mr. Jim Miles, the District’s Local Education Agency (LEA) Designated Person, at (308) 487-3328.
