Homecoming Week Activities

September 29-October 3

Monday, September 29

Dress up theme:  Tourist or Decade!  

Get out those old cameras, Hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts, and white socks with dress shoes!  Feeling the 50s? 80s? or futuristic??

Events:  Coronation will be at 1:15 in the High School Gym.  Public is welcome to attend!

Candidates are:  Kaelia Nelson, Hannah Fessler, and MaKayla Grumbles
                             Colt Foster, Brady Turek, and Ethan Skinner

Sports Activity:  JV Football vs BRIDGEPORT (H)  6:00, JV/V Volleyball triangular at Bridgeport  5:00,
Junior High Volleyball at Rushville 5:30

Tuesday, September 30

Dress up theme:  Senior Citizen or Great Outdoors

Find those knee highs, polyester pants, wigs, walkers, and dentures!  The great outdoor will feature anything outdoor related:  camouflage, fishing, skiing, soccer, football, skydiving, whatever…  ☺

Events:  Locker decorating during 2nd period.  Lockers will be judges immediately following school.

The burning of the H, the car smashing, AND THE TAILGATE HOTDOG ROAST  will be POSTPONED TILL LATER IN THE SEASON at the grandstands at 7:00 p.m. 

Sports Activity:  Junior High Football at Garden County  5:00

Wednesday, October 1

Dress up theme:  Luau  or Occupation

Even when it is cold outside, we can dress like we are at the beach!   Dress like someone you admire or an occupation that you are interested in!

Events:  Olympic Day!  Many games to choose from with all classes participating in capture the flag, pass the ball, and the tug-o-war!  Starts at 2:00 in the backyard.

Thursday, October 2

Dress up theme:  Twin or Celebrity Swap

Find those outfits that are exactly like someone else’s and you have it made!  Wonder what it is like to dress up like Cruella Devil?  Elvis?  Michael Jackson?  Well, now is your chance!

Events:  None today.  Have to regroup for the busy day tomorrow!

Sports Activity:   Junior High Football at home vs. Crawford at 5:00, Junior High Volleyball at home vs Crawford at 5:00,  Cross country at Bayard Invite at 2:30, High School Volleyball at Hay Springs

Friday, October 3

Dress up theme:  Spirit Day!!

Events:  Students will decorate floats from 8:30-10:30ish.  Outdoor activities will be provided.  School is sponsoring a barbeque a noon.  Floats will be leaving the school parking lot at 1:00 and will travel by the care center, down Box Butte, and end up in front of the grandstands.  A pep rally will follow.

Float themes are as follows:  7th grade: Willy Wonka
8th grade: Hairspray
Freshmen: Frozen
Sophomores:  High School Musical
Juniors:  Lion King
Seniors: Grease

Sports Activity:  Football kickoff at Bobcat field at 7:00 versus the Morrill Lions, with a tailgate starting at 6:00.  Homecoming royalty will be announced at halftime.

Dance in the little gym for grades 9-12 from 9:00-11:30 pm.
