Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Bobcat and Lady Bobcat Track and Field Teams took part in District action at Creek Valley Thursday, qualifying four boys and one girl for the Nebraska State Meet next week in Omaha. For the Girls, Coach Cindy Ahrens had Freshman hurdler Shelby Campbell go in both the 100 highs, where she placed first, and the 300 lows, where she finished second.
Coach Tim Lanik will send his 4 x 100 relay team to the big show, with members Blake Vela, a junior, Matthew Harris, a sophomore, Lance Haas, the lone senior, and Patrick Jespersen, a junior. Jesperson also has a chance to qualify in the 200 meter dash as a wild card, based on his third place finish. Junior Kyle Campbell will join the relay team as an alternate, having run on the team all season before an injury.
