HHS Class of 2012 Graduates
Mendiola and Heitz are Co- Valedictorians
Hemingford High School honored twenty-three Seniors on Sunday, May 20th with Graduation services. The 2 PM ceremony was held in the Big Gym in Hemingford, and allowed the Seniors to have family and friends share their shining moment.
Speakers included Co-Valedictorians Sandra Mendiola and Katie Heitz. Heitz will be headed to Colorado State University, while Mendiola, a National Merit Scholar Finalist Winner, will attend Yale University. Class President Hans Hansen, who will attend the University of Wisconsin also spoke, giving a year by year history of the Class of 2012.
Board Chair April Casey also addressed the crowd, encouraging graduates to go out into the world, but to always remember where they came from. She was joined by board member J.D. Sutphen as they awarded diplomas to the entire class, including Kate Casey and Morgan Sutphen, children of the two board members.
The Class lined up outside the gymnasium for a chance for guests to pass along their congratulations.
