Hemingford Alumni Scholarships Awarded
22 Graduates Receive Elliot Foundation Aid
by staff
July 25, 2007
Twenty-two graduates of Hemingford High School were awarded over $39,000 in college and university scholarship dollars this week in an annual effort by many local donors. The Elliot family has for the past twenty-five years been the major contributors to the annual scholarships that go to alumni from Hemingford. Individual notices and certificates will be arriving this week.
Many students that applied are recent graduates, but the Board of Directors have added the possibility for non-traditional and graduate degree winners in the future, with the Board deciding that any individual can receive up to eight awards.
Students that are graduates of Hemingford High School and their parents are encouraged to begin gathering information that is required for the application that is found on the school web-site. Good grades, active participation in leadership and extra-curricular activities, financial need, and other extenuating circumstances are primary factors in awarding these scholarships.
