Each year a thousand tornadoes touch down in the United States, far more than any other country. A strong tornado can pick up a house and can move it down the block. Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas , and Kansas makes up tornado alley.
In 1931, a tornado in Mississippi lifted and 83 ton trains and tossed it 80 feet from the track. They go 7o mile per hour. Tornado winds are the fastest winds on Earth. They can move houses to other blocks.
The most tornados from 1 storm in Nebraska is 7. Nebraska has about 50 tornados per year. Tornados have occurred in all 50 states. Nebraska has never had a tornado in February. Tornados can throw a motel sign up to 150 miles. Tornados have plucked feathers off chickens. Tornados sound like jet engines.
