Saturday is Golden for Wood
Four Wins at Bayard C-D Meet
HHS Junior Kelsy Wood must have had two dishes of Wheaties early in the morning of March 31st as she readied herself for the 2012 Bayard C-D Invite. Her level of energy is normally very high, and she is no stranger to gold medals in track, as she has a drawer full of them already. The success her family has had in track and field has also kept her in a positive mind-set over the years as she has run and jumped.
Saturday was a special day however, as she ran her first ever 100 meter run in high school at (12:8); ran a crisp 300 lows at (47.5); Long jumped a decent (15’8”), and breezed over the 100 low hurdles in a school record time of (15.9) ( held previously by Shelby Campbell at 16.3 )
She was rewarded with a gold medal in all four of her events, scoring 40 team points, something that comes in handy on a small team. Kelsy was also chosen by the meet coaches as 2012’s outstanding female competitor!
Congratulations to Kelsy for her outstanding meet! Whatever she eats for breakfast works just fine – those calories get burned up quickly on the track!
