2012 FFA Meal and Auction a HUGE Success !
Fish, Oysters and an Auction
FFA grosses over 10,000 on Oyster Feed and auction.
The Hemingford FFA recently held their fourth annual Oyster feed and labor/project auction. This was a record year for the event which generated over $10,000.00 in gross income. After all expenses are paid the chapter will have around $4500.00 to use for operations during the year. The labor auction hit an all-time high with members averaging $440.00 each and the project auction brought in $1500.00 for next year’s materials purchases. Attendees were treated to an all you can (or want) to eat oyster / fish fry and the chance to win door prizes donated by local businesses. The winner of the car this year was Eric Waters of Alliance. Advisor Gordon Karney said “I am amazed and grateful to the Hemingford Community for their generosity in supporting our organization”. Money from the event goes to pay for student activities such as leadership camps, meals and lodging for contests and state convention, the purchase of official dress for members and scholarships for graduating members.
