2011-2012 Western Trails All Conference Honors

Listed Below are All Conference Honors for Hemingford Students in Western Trails Activity Conference activities and sports. They are selected for these honors by judges in many activities, and by a vote of conference coaches in many sports. In individual sports, a students finish at the conference meet also gained this honor.

WTC FALL ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS                                                                                   (2011-12)

FOOTBALL- (5-3) Hemingford participated in 8-Man Football, while the other six WTC schools all participate in 11-man Football, so there are no All Conference Football Selections for Hemingford in the WTC. HHS FB Coaches are Randy Hiemstra, Jordan Haas, and Joe Collins.

VOLLEYBALL - (9-21) Western Trails VB Honors went to first team selection Katie Heitz (12; and Honorable Mention Selections: Kelsy Wood (11), and Mollie Oetken (12) HHS VB Coaches are Kerri Heusman and Laura Klemke

CROSS COUNTRY – The Bobcat Thinclads were young this year, but showed lots of promise with junior high participation and success. Coaches were Cindy and Tim Lanik

ONE ACT PLAY -Hemingford performed , “Deus Ex Machina”, in Rushville where they placed fifth. Faculty Sponsors were Tabi Bryner and Irene Prochazka. Individual Actor and Actress honors went to :  Paige Phillips, Tanner Lembke, Katie Heitz, Ashleigh Galles, Kelsy Wood, A.J. Jesus, and Cash Weber !

WTC MUSIC

CHORUS  - On November 14th, Hemingford High School hosted the Western Trails Honor Choir.  Schools that participated were Bayard, Bridgeport, Gordon/Rushville, Hemingford, Kimball, Mitchell and Morrill.  There were 124 members from the participating schools selected for this honor choir.  Members from Hemingford were Lexi Olson, Alexis Phillips, Kayleen Boone, Felicia Vela, Lena Koerbl and Christian Brakensiek. Hemingford’s Music Instructor is Ms. Sara Schmidt

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC - On March 6th, Bayard HS hosted the 2012 WTC Honors Instrumental Music Clinic. Schools that participated were Bayard, Bridgeport, Gordon/Rushville, Hemingford, Kimball, Mitchell and Morrill.  Members from Hemingford included: Tyler Huddle, Kaelia Nelson, Joseph Rozmiarek, and Hanna Swanson. Hemingford’s Music Instructor is Ms. Sara Schmidt
