The Panhandle Conference Jr. High Volleyball Tournament was hosted by Hemingford this year and the Lady Cats made it interesting, working their way into the championship match before losing to Alliance St. Agnes. In the first game of the tournament, Hemingford slipped by Hay Springs in scores of 25 – 12 and 25 – 10. This was one of our team better performances of the season so far. In the second match against Sioux County the Lady Cats upended the determined Warriors in two. The scores were 25 – 14 and 25 – 9. In the Championship game Hemingford fell to Alliance St. Agnes for the second time in week. The scores in this match were 9 – 25 and 12 – 25.
On Monday September Hemingford hosted Gordon/Rushville for two matches. In the match between Hemingford White and Gordon / Rushville the White team came out on top with scores of 21 – 10, 22 – 20, and 21 – 13. This match showed the solid progress that this group of Lady Cats has been making. In the match between Gordon / Rushville and Hemingford Red, the Sheridan County ladies came out on top in scores of 14 – 21, 21 – 14 and 18 – 21. Our Lady Cats battled through the entire match but just could not over numerous missed serves.
