HEMINGFORD JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL ACTION – 

September 16^th and 18^th

“ On September 16^th our Junior High VB teams traveled to Bridgeport for matches.  Our White team came out on the short end of things 11-25 and 7-25.  Event though these scores do not indicate it our young ladies are certainly progressing.  On Saturday the White team was in Alliance for an invitational tournament.  This day proved to be a much better overall showing for our younger players.  The White’s lost the first match of the day to Alliance Public by scores of 9-18 and 5-18.  In the second match of the day this group got their first win of the season by defeating Alliance St. Agnes 19-17 and 18-12.  To finish out the day the Hemingford Junior High Whites lost to Torrington by scores of 5-18 and 10-18. 

On September 16^th the Junior High Reds played at Bridgeport in a real close match.  Our ladies fought hard and came out on the short end of a 24-26 and 26-18 score.  This match could have gone either way.  At the Alliance Invitational our Red team opened up with Alliance Public.  In that match we lost to the young Bulldogs by scores of 10-18 and 14-18.  From that point on the Reds really played very well.  They defeated Chadron by scores of 18-15 and 18-15, and Torrington by scores of 18-11, 15-18, and 19-17.  This tournament helped give our players some exposure against bigger schools that we do not normally see.  Over all, it was a good day for all of our volleyball players.   We will next be in action at the Panhandle Conference Tournament in Hay Springs on the 25^th.
