Minatare falls in Parent's Night Clashes

Hemingford Boys 58, Minatare 13
HEMINGFORD — The
Hemingford boys basketball team evened its record at 8-8 on the
season with a 58-13 win over visiting Minatare on Tuesday. The
Bobcats raced out to a 14-0 lead after the opening quarter and held
a 32-7 advantage at the half. Luke Moser ignited for a game-high 20
points for Hemingford. Jake Long tallied 16 points. The Bobcats
converted 10 of 21 free throws in the game.
Nate Garcia scored five points to lead Minatare offensively. The
Indians were 5-for-6 from the foul line.
Hemingford will next be in action on Thursday in the opening
round of the Western Trails Conference Tournament at Mitchell. Tip
off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Hemingford Girls 86, Minatare 37
HEMINGFORD — Shelby Campbell knocked down four 3-pointers and
finished with a game-high 20 points in Hemingford’s 86-37 win over
Minatare on Tuesday night. Campbell was one of three Bobcats to
finish in the double-figure scoring column in the game. Brooke
Hannaford totaled 15 points and Ashley Yardley added 14.
Minatare was led in scoring by Shelbi McAllister with 13 points and
Abi Longoria with 12.
Hemingford led 40-23 at the half before outscoring the Indians
46-14 in the second half.
The Bobcats knocked down 14 of their 23 free-throw opportunities while Minatare was 11 of 19. The win helped Hemingford (7-10) snap a four-game losing streak. The Bobcats will take on Kimball in the first round of the Western Trails Conference Tournament on Thursday in Kimball. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
