Five Hemingford Wrestlers Place at Bridgeport Invite.
On Saturday Dec. 20 the Hemingford wrestling Squad competed at the Bridgeport Wrestling Invite. As a team Hemingford placed 6th. Individual results are as follows.
At 119 Aaron Jesperson Defeated Spurlin of Mullin and Brower of Kimball by falls and lost by a 7-5 decision that went into overtime to Bromberg of Chadron for second place.
At 125 pounds Jose Campos lost by decision to Stahla of Mitchell, Pinned Puttergill of Mullin and won by decision over Hespe of Chadron to receive third place.
At 135 pounds Adam Jensen pinned Harriman of Bayard, lost by a fall to Grubbs of Kimball, won by a fall over Allen of Morrill and lost by decision to Lapeseotas of Bridgeport for a 4th place finish.
At 140 pounds Zane Jaramallo had a tough day and lost both of his matches by falls.
At 152 Brandon Roland lost by a fall to Rice of Bridgeport and won by forfeit in the final round for third place.
At 189 Michael Bergfield pinned Lewing of Chadron and won his final match against Licking of Mullin by a 13-9 decision to receive 1st place.
The next competition for the wrestlers will be the Western Trails Conference Dual Tournament on January 8, 2009 at the college in Scottsbluff. The time for this tournament is still undecided. Best guess at this time is about 12:00 noon.
