New Business

Where did the summer go? We are back
to school and we have so many new gadgets and ideas to explore. I
am glad to be back and see so many familiar faces. With one year
here under my belt, hopefully the kids will recognize me more
too!
• In computer management, we are going to be doing more with the
Ebay, budgeting, stock markets, basic math skills, keyboarding and
typing skills, and so much more.
• For Accounting I and II, we will be moving through the text and
learning how to balance our accounting equation and making sure our
books are correct.
• Professional Development is a unique class that prepares the
students for their futures. A few items we will cover this year
are:
o Designing resumes
o Discussing interviews and participating in actual interviews with
people from our chosen career fields
o Partaking in a dinner at the Country Club in Alliance so we can
practice our manners
o Reading rental agreements so that we understand them before we
ever move out of the house
o Talking about necessary job skills
o Creating budgets based on our future career fields
o Learning how to evaluate, compare, and buy vehicles
• In the Spring semester, we will have our language course
available to the eighth graders. Spanish, French, and Latin are
taught using the Rosetta Stone program so that the students may
test the waters of the languages offered either at Hemingford or
through the Distance Learning Lab.
In my "spare" time, I assist Mrs. Benda in the maintenance of all
the school computers. I have learned a lot in this past year from
her and hope to be of more help now and in the future.
I am looking forward to a great year with the kids and the
Hemingford community. Please feel free to contact me with any
questions or concern at school or via e-mail at bstark@
