Wrestlers Battle in Dunning and at CSC
21 teams from Four States in Action
Wrestlers Dual Bayard, Compete at Knights Invite
On Thursday Jan, 15 the Hemingford Wrestling Team Competed in a dual with Bayard. There were only seven matches where both teams had wrestlers at the same weight Hemingford finished the dual 4-3.
Results for the dual are as follows.
At 119 Aaron Jespersen won with a fall over Skyler Jaffries,
at 125 Jose Campos won with a fall over Colby Bowers,
at 130 Adam Jensen won with a fall over Colby Anders, and
at 215 Joe Bob Haas won with a fall over Travis Willey.
The other three matches were a good showing for our wrestlers, though Brandon Roland, Zane Solberg, and Tanner Lemke wrestled tough, they were unable to win their matches.
On Saturday Jan, 18 the Bobcat wrestling team took a long bus ride to Dunning and competed in the Knights invite (a good Class D tournament). Jose Campos and Joe Bob Haas won individual championships at 125 and 215.
We finished 8th out of 15 as a team and had a decent showing in a tough tournament. Other competitors were Aaron Jespersen who went 1-2 at 119, Adam Jensen who went 0-2 at 130, and Zane Solberg who went 1-2 at 140.
Next week we will be competing in the Chadron Invitational, It is a two day tournament and will be held at the Physical Activities Center at CSC starting at 11:00 AM on Friday, Jan. 23rd and 9AM on Saturday, Jan. 24th. There will be 21 teams entered, with 11 from Nebraska, 5 from South Dakota, 4 from Wyoming, and 1 from Colorado.
