Brianne's Bio

by Brianne Moudry

December 22, 2004

I went to Chadron State College and graduated in May of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  My endorsements are in elementary and preschool disabilities.  I am currently working on a Master's in Special Education from UNK.

I began working for Hemingford Public Schools the fall after graduation.  This is my sixth year teaching here.  This year I have two sessions of preschool.  My preschoolers work on early literacy and math skills and also a lot of social skills.  Much of what we do is related to a theme and learned through play.  I use a phonics program called Zoo-phonics that teaches the letters and sounds using animals, music, and movement.  I also work with any birth to 3 year olds that need special services and do observations and evaluations on this age as needed.

My main goal for my students is to help them learn to treat others and themselves with respect and to be responsible for their actions.  This includes helping them learn how to conduct themselves in different settings and to understand why some things are not appropriate in certain settings.  I would like my students to leave my classroom well prepared for kindergarten.

My husband, Jason and I both grew up in central Nebraska, in the small town of Ord. Our families are all still there, except for our brothers.  My daughter, Allison, is our Christmas angel.  She is an almost 4 year old ball of energy.  I also have a Halloween spook, our son Grady.  He's a monkey and climbs on EVERYTHING!  As a family, we enjoy going geocaching.  When I have time (or when the kids are asleep), I enjoy reading and cross-stitching.  I also enjoy snow skiing, water skiing, and roller blading occasionally.  We also like to spend a lot of time traveling to visit our family and friends back in the center of the state.  Lucky for us, Allie and Grady travel well and enjoy seeing all their cousins!
