SCHEDULE FOR MRS. AHRENS
1st Period General Math I & II
This will be the 2nd year for me with this class. We are going to try and incorporate the two classes together with the GM II students extending the lesson more than the GM I students.The General Math classes are basically a Pre- Algebra curriculum. Scientific Calculators are recommended for class.
2nd Period Math 7
Math 7 is a continuation of Middle School math. We learn about Number Sense, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and Probability. We incorporate writing, scientific method, and story problems in almost every lesson.
3rd Period Alg I
Alg I starts with the basics like variables and one-step problems. We advance on to 2-step problems, linear combinations, substitution, slope, quadratic formula, and inequalities. Graphing is done throughout the year. I have some graphing calculators, but they should bring their own scientific calculators to class.
4th Period Math 7
Same as above
5th Period Alg I
Same as above
6th Period Math 8
Math 8 is an advanced Math 7 class. The basic concepts are the same, they are just more advanced and abstract.
