Cindy and I celebrated our thirty-first wedding anniversary this summer.  We have two children who are both married.  Our son is Nate, who is currently a teacher/coach in the Alliance Public Schools and his wife is the former Jenny Nason of Alliance.  Jenny is currently a teacher in the Alliance School system as well.  They  gave us our first grandson in February of 2008, Espen Elii Lanik.  The family resides in Alliance. Our daughter is Lindsey, a teacher/coach at Emerson-Hubbard Public Schools.  Her husband is Jeff Burback who is in the insurance business in Iowa.  They blessed us our first granddaughter in April of 2008, Addalai Zada Burback, and this year in April they once again blessed us with our second grandson, Brogan Barrett Burback. They reside in Sioux City, Iowa. In my spare time, I like to ride my motorcycle and play cards.  I have even been known to take a few trips to Grand Island for the horse races during the summer months.

I think education is a very challenging profession these days.  There are more and more guidelines for the students and teachers which results in more and more paperwork for everyone.  Fortunately, I feel our students are very capable and positive.  We live in a great community with great kids and that makes teaching rewarding.
