Hello all you Bobcat fans! This is Coach Hiemstra and I am anxiously awaiting the start of the 20010-11 school year. Each Fall brings renewed enthusiasm for our school and community and our activities are certainly an integral part of the educational process as well as a great way to promote Bobcat Pride.
A little bit about myself; I am entering my 24th year in public education. I have served as a teacher, coach, activities director, and assistant principal the past 23 years. I must admit I am most partial to the roles of teaching and coaching as it is the daily interaction with the students that I really enjoy .
My teaching responsibilities include 7th & 8th grade physical education as well as strength training and conditioning and a shared experience with Mrs. Giorgi as 9th grade PE instructors. I also share activities director duties with Mr. Lanik and serve as Co-Head football coach with Jordan Haas, plus occupy my time during the winter months as boy's basketball coach. I truly enjoy my classroom duties as well as my opportunity to serve as a coach for the bobcats.
I am a married father of 3 children. My wife Angie is a teacher in the Alliance Public school system. Our oldest daughter Sydnie is 15 and a sophomore at Alliance High School, Madison is 12, and will be a 7th grader at Hemingford Jr. High School, and our son Mason is 9 and will be entering 4th grade in the Hemingford Elementary system.. All of us are active in extra curricular activities and feel strongly that the arts and athletics are an important piece in being life long learners. Good luck to all the Bobcat teams this year.
