I was born and raised on the coast of California in Santa Barbara which is 100 miles north of Los Angeles. The beach was minutes away and I spent lots of summer days digging in the sand and riding the waves on my inflatable raft. My husband and I moved to Nebraska in 1979 to sample “the good life” and we decided it truly was a good life. Before moving to Nebraska, we were farming and ranching on his family ranch near Solvang, California. I do miss the “smell” of the beach and our families who still live in California. We have two children and one grandson. Our son works in Computer Services at Chadron State College and our married daughter lives with her husband and our first grandchild in Tucson, Arizona.
I enjoy mountain biking with my dog on the Pine Ridge trails south of Chadron. I also enjoy Geocaching – a treasure hunt using a Global Positioning System (GPS). It takes us to many interesting places in my yellow 1971 VW convertible. Camping, hiking, and the outdoors are other interests of mine.
I love to be physically active and my primary goal in teaching is to instill that love in my students. My objective is to introduce them to many activities - and the benefits of physical activity - so that they will enjoy an active and healthy life.
