Mrs. Heusman's Bio

Hello, my name is Kerri Heusman and I am one of two kindergarten teachers here. This will be my fifth year working in the Hemingford Public Schools. Working with the little ones is always a treat! It is exciting to watch the students become more independent throughout the year. By the end of Kindergarten students will be reading 3-4 letter words,memorizing many sight words, adding, subtracting, and along with many more concepts.
A Little Bit About Me...
I am a former HHS alumni student. I have always been very active in sports. A full ride volleyball scholarship to MPCC in North Platte, Nebraska is what lead me down the road to furthering my education. I graduated there with an Associate of Arts degree in 1998 and transferred to CSC in Chadron, Nebraska. In 2001, I then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Endorsement. I taught in the Alliance rural school district K-2 and 6th-8th. I also had an opportunity to work overseas in Naples, Italy for 3 years teaching 3rd grade at a Military School.
This is my second year as the Head Volleyball Coach. I am looking forward to another season. It is truly an honor to do the two things I like best. Teach Kindergarten all day and hit the gym for some volleyball action in the afternoons and evenings.
