August 29, 2009

Good Morning,

Here are some instructions to add /change/edit pictures in your web stories:

First - upload or copy pictures/images to your actual computer from a disk, an e-mail, or a camera:
  1. Click on each pic and save them to the computer at school (in a file in the "my Pictures" menu item in your start up menu
  2. Name it and save another if you wish, etc.
  3. When you log on to our website (staff only button) , open your article by searching for it, using your name as the author. (there is a pull down/pop-up menu that lists all names as well)
  4. Click on the "Edit Images" Button
  5. Click on the "add images" button
  6. Click on "Select Files" (you can add more than one pic (up to 25) in three different "galleries")
  7. Click on "Image Gallery" 1,2, or 3
  8. Click on "begin Upload"
  9. You may add a caption if you choose.
  10. You must go to the 2nd and 3rd gallery if you have more pictures you want to use.
  11. On your story, only the first picture in each gallery will be shown, you must click on that thumb-nailed picture to begin a slide show of the others.
  12. Once this process is complete, click on the "article editor" button.
  13. You must click on the image icons at the top toolbar if you have more than one gallery of pix.

  14. The image will be inserted wherever your curser/arrow is located in your story.
  15. Write/edit cut and then paste your story (choose "styled HTML, Embedded, if you want to have your words legible)
  16. Click "submit article" and within a few minutes, your page will be updated!
If you're just including text, then you can jump past the image editing and go straight to "article editor".

Be sure and see me /call me/ask me to stop in, if I can be of service. It's easier to show the process than to write what may seem like long-winded instructions!
