4th Grade Erosion Experiments

wind, ice and water erosion first hand

September 07, 2008

4th Graders learn first hand what it is like to have wind, ice and water erosion through a Science experiment.

Which experiment was your favorite?

“The best was the ice erosion because I learned that glaciers come in different sizes and because it was exciting to watch the moraines fall out of the ice cube.  That is why ice erosion was the best”

-         Carli

“The erosion experiment I liked best was the water erosion because I like to go to the river and play a lot.  I like to fish a lot too.  It was cool too.”

-         Jon

“The erosion experiment I like best was wind erosion because we talked about how different wind can blow seeds all over the place and make large holes in your field.”

- Natalie

“The erosion experiment I liked best was water erosion because it was pure fun and exciting in so many different ways.  There’s when it formed a lake at the bottom and a little path through it, and the sand felt really soft and warm.  Then it was a bridge that fell over.”

-         Sheyenne

“The erosion experiment I liked best was water erosion because it was very interesting when sediment covered the rocks and the bridge being washed out.”

-Austin
