Mrs. Ahrens is a math teacher at Hemingford
High School and has been teaching since 1985. She graduated
from Chadron High School and from CSC. She received her BS
Elementary Education in 1985, Middle School Endorsement in
Mathematics 1987, MS Education in Secondary Mathematics 2000, MS
Elementary Administration 2004. Her career started in
Hemingford teaching a split 5/6 grade, then 2 years at Prairie
Home, and then back to Hemingford. She teaches 7, 8 Math, Alg
I, and has a new class this year General Math I
& II. She is the Sophmore sponsor and coaches Jr. High
Volleyball-Basketball, Quiz Bowl, and the High School girls track
team.
Outside of school Mrs. Ahrens likes
playing with her new grandson , Tayten.
Way in second place are sports, reading and working in her
garden. She is the 3rd child of six and was born
in Redfield, SD. She met her husband,
Lee, in high school at Chadron. They married and have two great kids, Kim and Ben. Kim married Kory Haas and has decided to stay home this year with Tayten. Ben works on the railroad in Anchorage. He is planning to marry a wonderful girl and Kindergarten teacher, Shelby Aaberg, Aug 8, 08. Cindy also has two grand dogs, Kia & Tater.
