Egg Embyology
Spring is here and time for the third grade classes to start their egg embryology unit! The students spent one afternoon learning the parts of an egg. They also got to identify these parts with a hands-on egg cracking activity. Ashley Fenning, UNL Extension Assistant came on April 11th and helped students candle and set their eggs in the incubators. On April 17th the students candled eggs and looked for eyes and beginning developments of the embryos. The students will candle again on April 25th and remove eggs that are deemed yolkers or quitters. Our hatch day is expected on May 2nd.
