TIME TO VOTE APPROACHES

ELECTION UPDATE – EVERY VOTE COUNTS
====================
With several offices up for grabs in and around Hemingford, (as well as our state and country) primary elections will take place Tuesday, May 10th, 2016.
In our local school board elections, Ward C has three candidates, so voters in May will elect the top two to move forward. Ward A and Ward B have just two candidates each, so all those candidates will automatically advance to the Tuesday, November 8th General election.
In November, each ward will have two candidates to choose from, electing one from each ward.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are Partisan and Non-Partisan offices that will be part of both upcoming elections.
In the Primary, voters registered as Democrats and Republicans get to vote for all categories/offices. (just within their party in Partisan categories) Voters registered as Libertarians may vote for Libertarian candidates in any Partisan categories, and in all Non- Partisan categories. Voters that are registered as an Independent can vote solely on Non-Partisan offices in the Primary.
In the General election in November, all voters may vote on any and all categories.
PRIMARY ELECTION : Tuesday, May 10
GENERAL ELECTION: Tuesday, November 8
POLL HOURS: 7AM – 7PM

This is America, and the Right to Vote is a Precious One
1.) There are many eligible adults that choose to not register as a voter.
2.) There are many registered voters that choose to not vote for one reason or another.
In an odd twist - those that "choose" to not vote actually give up their right to CHOOSE candidates.
Please register if you have not done so already – and then mark your calendars so that you go to the poll and vote
Thank You.
If you have any questions about registering or voting, please call Judy Messersmith, the Clerk of Box Butte County, at 762-6565
