2015 HHS FCCLA State Results
FCCLA state leadership conference was held April 12-14. Hemingford FCCLA members and advisor Suzanne Neefe came back with many awards. As a chapter, Hemingford received a Gold Chapter award, I-recruit award, and a Leadership Service in Action Award.
Individual awards include: Back: Devan Hanson and Cooper Weber received a Silver medal and State runner up in Culinary Arts. Taylee Neefe received a gold in Illustrated talk. Mikayla Randolph and Madison Glendy received a Silver in National Programs in Action. Front: Rebecca Hanson and Rashell Neefe received a Silver in Focus on Children. Mrs. Suzanne Neefe also received recognition for her years of service in FCCLA. This is her 10th year as being an advisor for Hemingford.
Special recognition go to Taylee Neefe, Mikayla Randolph and Madison Glendy. Taylee Neefe represented our district as a state officer candidate. As a state officer candidate she was judged on an application, test over FCCLA knowledge, an interview and a presentation in front of the entire state. Unfortunately, she didn’t make state officer this year. Mikayla Randolph and Madison Glendy were accepted as state peer officers for the 2015-16 school year. Mikayla Randolph will serve as state chairperson on the Financial Fitness Peer team and state vice-chairperson of the SPOT (State Peer Officer Team) Council. Madison Glendy will serve as state Vice Chairperson of the Families First Peer officer team. Both girls had to complete an application, interview, test, and presentation in order to make it on a peer officer team. Mikayla scored the top score to receive president on her team and Madison scored second on her team. This will be the first time in school history to have students serving on a Peer officer team. The girls will give a presentation to the school board at the next board meeting explaining their positions.
