Differences: FROM LAST YEAR TO THIS – Scheduling/Days Off from Class / Expenses
There are two major differences between last year’s trip to Lincoln for the Football finals and this year’s trip. First is the time of the game (10:15 AM last year – 2:45 PM this year) That timing change is stretching our travel differently than last year as far as deciding on lodging or driving straight through. Parents and fans will have to choose the best option for themselves and any family members. That is also the reason that there will be no classes this year on Tuesday. Many students would only be able to attend a partial day. Hopefully this change will allow families to plan their regular schedules and Thanksgiving schedules with more flexibility.
Secondly, this will be a more traditional year regarding paying for expenses of travel in particular. We were blessed with some significant donations last year that covered travel, lodging and meals for students and adults who were going as fans, but that is not the case this year, so the district is at least offering a yellow bus for folks to get to Lincoln and back with no cost for transportation.
