2nd Grade Visits the Mammoth Site
On May 22, 2012 the 2nd grade went to Hot Springs, South Dakota to visit the Mammoth Site. The Mammoth Site is the world’s largest mammoth research facility. The 2nd grade had been studying living things from the past. They participated in a class and learned about animal tracks and the imprints they might create. They also toured an active paleontological dig site and view Ice Age fossils exhibited as they are found. They looked through the museum and went to the laboratory and saw actually researchers working on fossils found at the Mammoth Site.
