They walked, they ran, they biked, and logged many, many miles, all through March and April. In an effort to keep people in good physical shape, (or to get some people into better shape) many staff members in the Hemingford School System have turned up their aerobic efforts for the past two months.

Brigit Harris, Cindy Ahrens, Bev Hanks, Cindy Lanik, Deb Campbell, Gina Benda, Jennifer Gasseling, Joei Cullan, Judy Stewart, Kelly Thompson, Linda Folkerts, Nancy Giorgi, Nancy Yardley, Pam Huddle, Peggy Thayer, Randy Hiemstra, Casper Ningen, Christy Ningen, and Sue Benzel were up before sunrise, or after school putting in the miles.

The increased awareness and physical activity has helped everyone bridge the gap between winter and spring, continuing heart-healthy activities to the tune of almost 9,000 miles logged.

Everyone in the group did a great job adding to their daily workouts, even if it was a leisurely walk with the dog, or an intense workout on a stationary bike. Pam Huddle led the way with over 1,200 miles herself! Other noteworthy efforts were made by 2nd and 3rd place finishers Deb Campbell and Sue Benzel.

The hardy group of fit educators was each given a T-Shirt as a reward for their hard work!
