by Staff

December 18, 2007

It was a great night of music on Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 in the Hemingford gym, as hundreds of parents, grandparents, and friends watched this year’s Christmas Music Concert. Students in pre-school, elementary, junior high, and senior high sang, danced, and played a variety of instruments, entertaining the overflow crowd.

The students, directed by Mrs. Ann Chesley, performed many traditional Christmas songs, and featured small groups as well as large ensembles.

The Kindergarteners performed , “The Rainbow Train”

The Concert Choir performed, “ Simple Gifts/Pachelbel’s Canon”, Keep on Following the Star”, “Baby What You Goin’ To Be?”, and “California Dreamin’”.

Grades 3rd -6th performed “One Day In December”, Jingle Bell Boogie”, “Kalinka”, “Surfin’ USA”, “Silver Bells”, “My Marvelous Magical Sleigh”, and “Rockin’ on the Housetops.”

The pre-school, directed by Brianne Moudry, performed “Oh Where Oh Where Did Santa Go”, “The Christmas Tree”, and “Santa Claus is Much Too Fat”!

Everyone was dressed up for the big night.

Christmas sweaters, a Santa hat, and a smile!

Level One Band Played, “ Piepont”, My Dreydl”, and “Long, Long Ago”.

The First and Second Grade performed, “ Season’s Round and Round”, and “ Ring Bells”.

Mothers with cameras were on hand in force as well, recording the special event.

Jayleen Forgey, Briley Hannaford, Samantha Huss, and Kaitlyn Jespersen performed a Junior High rendition of , “ Good King Wenceslas”.

Many numbers featured dance steps and actions to accentuate the great sounds.

Hawaii seemed a little bit closer, even with the snow outside!

The Swing Choir performed “The Holiday Season”.

The band played, “ Rockin’ With Frosty”, “A Cambridge Carol”, This Christmas”, and “Crosswinds March”.

The percussion section featured a number of traditional and unique instruments.

Small groups included Megan Roland and Britt Anderson performing an instrumental Duet of , “ Masters in this Hall”.

Our thanks to the students for their hard work, to the parents and family that support their practice time, and to Mrs. Chesley, for tying this all together and providing another great Christmas Concert!

Merry Christmas!
