Elementary Physical Education/Health Grading

by Nancy Giorgi on August 12, 2012

4th - 6th grade students receive a percent grade in physical education.  A daily grade of 10 points/day are possible:

6 Irresponsible

Student chooses not to take responsibility for their own behavior.  They often call others names, hit others, make others feel bad, and/or interfere with others’ work.

7 Self Control

Student does as little as possible or chooses not to follow class rules and directions.

8  Bronze Medal

Student respects others, plays fair, accepts challenges, cares for equipment and practices skills when the teacher is watching.

9 Silver Medal

Student is able to take responsibility for their own learning.  They are able to work and play without the teacher having to watch them all the time.

10  Gold Medal

Student, besides respecting others, participating, and being able to work on their own, shows additional responsibility by cooperating, showing concern, and caring for others.

Two points are taken off for not wearing tennis shoes to class.

In addition to the daily points, there are health tests and the fitness test.

Fitnessgram grading:

    1.  10 points possible

    2.  2 pts. for each test in the Healthy Fitness Zone
