I am a Chadron State College graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in early childhood. I went back to school and completed a certification in assessment and am now working towards my masters in curriculum and instruction in elementary reading. I have worked here in Hemingford for the last 7 years. As the first grade teacher I am responsible for teaching the students in all academic areas in the classroom. This includes: reading, phonics, writing, math, science and social studies.
My goal for the first grade students is to have them become independent learners in the classroom. I would like to see them sit down pick up a pencil and write with out any assistance. I want them to develop a love for reading and see the importance it has in their life now and when they are older. To treat each other with the respect that they all deserve.
