Osmotherly Bio

by Michelle Osmotherly

August 15, 2005

Hello everyone.  My name is Michelle Osmotherly and I am going into my third year of teaching 4th grade in Hemingford.  The past two years has been a terrific experience for me and from those experiences I will build on to make another great year.

I was raised in Crawford, Nebraska and attended K-12 in the public school system.  While in high school I spent time in the Kindergarten room as an aid, as well as, a tutor for junior high and high school students.   After high school I went to Chadron State College to pursue my dream of being a teacher.  In May 2005, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Ryan. He is also a teacher. He teaches Science at Crawford as well as responsible for many other duties, such as coaching. With our busy lives we barely get to see each other. This summer we spent time visiting family. Ryan's younger brother and his wife had a baby girl, Emma Kae, in July so I'm an Auntie. It is so exciting! Along with visiting we also worked on our house and found that we are quite handy, or something like that. Not really!

This is Ryan and I at Hills Alive Music Festival up in Rapid City. We got to see artists such as Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Sara Kelly, and Aaron Shust. It was a ton of fun.

I have two younger siblings, Michael and Melissa.  Michael finished college at Kearney and got a job on the North Platte Fire Department. He really enjoys it and keeps him busy. Melissa lives in Alliance now and is working at the Veterns Home as well as taking a full load of classes at Chadron State. My mother, Rhonda, has her own beauty shop in Crawford and also waitresses at Fort Robinson.  My father, Stan, works for Qwest and repairs phone lines and country work for the Crawford-Harrison area.

I enjoy doing many things with family.  I like to play and watch basketball and volleyball as well as jump on the trampoline.  Even though I am an adult I am really a kid at heart.  I also love to scrapbook and remodel my house.

My goals for this year are to increase the students' enthusiasm for school and learning, and provide them with the background to be confident individuals.  It is amazing what can be done when you believe in yourself.
